Pigs can fly and this author is earning her wings! This whole process came about very organically and serendipitously with someone who knows someone who knows someone lending a hand and it’s been magical. The typical timeline to get a children’s book published is at least one to two years. I’m making it happen in about 7 months, and it’s my first book.

I have been very lucky in an area that can prove tricky to self-published authors, especially without previous name recognition. I have a built-in audience. There were about 4,000 children registered for the Kids’ Piglet Runs in 2024. That’s 4,000 members of a captive, age-specific, interested audience! And that’s not to mention their parents or friends who may want a copy, the teachers who want to teach Cicncinnati history, the collectors of alphabet books (like myself), the Cincinnati history buffs, the running community, just to name a few! The publishers I have met with have been impressed with my thought-out plans of where, when, and how to advertise, and specifically to whom!
I am also incredibly grateful for the team at PigWorks that has graciously approved the use of the Flying Pig Marathon name and logo, as well as the assistance they have provided in this endeavor.
